Ever since Lee can remember she dreamed of becoming a hairdresser and having a business of her own. Going straight from school into a 3 and ½ year apprenticeship Lee successfully obtained her National Qualification in Hairdressing. Work followed in a couple of local salons but it wasn’t long before Lee took the big step of purchasing Head High. That was back in 1986! During the years Lee took time out to travel overseas and found herself working in a salon on Ealing Broadway in London. Today Head High Professional Hair Design is still Lee’s baby and she remains as passionate about her work as she was on the first day of her apprenticeship. Lee travelled to Las Vegas in 2013 to take part in the REDKEN Symposium, where she spent 3 days in workshops for upcoming cutting and colouring trends and also business management. Lee has also been over to Sydney for the World Hair Expo several times and offers one lucky team member the chance to go with her. Lee’s philosophy is based on loving what you do and having the confidence to do it! She also takes pride in creating a team environment with all staff learning and working together not only to upskill themselves but also to ensure a professional and friendly environment for clients.
MICHELLE IRELAND/AWARD WINNING QUALIFIED STYLIST
Michelle has been in the hair industry since 2005.
She has a passion for creative styling and specialises in Bridal and
Long Hair work. Michelle enjoys all aspects of hairdressing and knew
from a young age that she wanted to make it her career. After joining
Head High in 2012, she has successfully entered and won awards at the
Regional Haidressing Competitions. 1st in HB NZARH Top Cutting Senior
2013, 1st in NZARH Directional Cutting, 2nd NZARH Directional Colour and
3rd Redken Specialist. She is passionate about upskilling and doing her
best to make her clients happy. RACHEL PALMER/QUALIFIED STYLIST/MAKEUP ARTIST Rachel started hairdressing in 2005 and joined the
team in 2011. Rachel has been dedicated to upskilling and in 2013 placed
2nd in New Zealand for Redken Specialist. Since completeing her
training with YOUNGBLOOD Mineral Cosmetics she has had additional
workshops with one of HB top make-up artists. Rachel is passionate about
hairstyling, cutting, colouring and make-up. She enjoys meeting new people and
building a relationship with her clients. KRISTIN HART/QUALIFIED STYLIST Kristin joined Head High in October 2014. From the age of 7, Kristin was involved in musical theatre. After seeing the hair and make-up team in action she knew she wanted to pursue it as a career and began training in 2009. After the birth of her beautiful daughter Athena she continued to then qualify in June 2013. Kristin loves all aspects of colouring, cutting and styling hair. She is passionate about individuality and self-expression and encourages her clients with the right knowledge to bring it out and look great. CORAL COULTER/QUALIFIED STYLIST Coral has 18 years experience in the hairdressing industry and has done competition work. Miss Waikato for the Miss New Zealand pagent and has worked in salons from Hamilton to the Far North. After returning to the Bay after a 26 year absence, Coral is excited to get to re-connect with Hawke's Bay and its people all over again. About Us - The Head High Team
